Freya’s Talking

This is the only background music I can listen to on default for hrs straight and not get fed up with. It prompts me to think better and dive deep into my thoughts. “green to blue” + late night walk + me alone with my thoughts VS the world I think I just took it to another lvl – playing it on the piano for hrs and thinking. Hold on, do you see a pattern here? I think better when I do something physical. But why is this? Apparently, doing smth physical, like washing the dishes, showering, walking or anything that keeps your hands busy lowers your default mode network’s “noise.” When you sit still and try to think deeply, the brain often tightens up as self-monitoring kicks in. Physical activity gives your motor cortex something to occupy itself with, which paradoxically frees the prefrontal cortex for abstract, associative thought. You stop performing thinking and just… think.
